Hi, I am Cindy and I live in New York City.

I’m a health and wellness coach, personal trainer and fitness enthusiast helping people change their lives in a healthier and holistic manner

The hardest thing I had to do or overcome in 2014 was…

Taking a step back in my fitness training as a result of being diagnosed with back injuries.

What this taught me about myself

This was a big eye opener. I was used to pushing myself so hard always aiming for better performance that I neglected to take care of myself in the process. I didn’t want to feel like a wimp and didn’t take the time I needed to rest and recover properly.

According to my chiropracter, these injuries have accumulated over the years. I did what I need to rehab my back. I also re-evaluated my priorities and fitness goals. It’s challenging to put the brakes on but I want to be healthy for life.

I cant afford to be disabled and it’s really not worth it. Besides, how do I set a good example if i don’t practice what I preach? I Needed to rebalance my priorities in life in order to be at peace with myself.

I have no regrets with the decision I made.

Some accomplishments from 2014 that I’m happy about

Taking the time to always learn something new and never lose sight of that. I try my best to get out of my comfort zone physically and mentally in order to grow and evolve. I learned and am still learning kite surfing, which is scary but exciting. I ran Barcelona’s first ever Super Spartan race which was very challenging.

After 14 years, I finally did my first professional photo shoot! I never thought I was good enough but I finally built up the confidence and took the plunge. It felt like a big burden of relief.

If you are feeling down at this time of year, my tip is…

Stay active and stay healthy.

The worst thing you can do is sit home and mope. Exercising helps relieve stress and makes you feel better. When you look good, you feel good. Find an activity which suits you and will keep you motivated. Wintertime you can be more focused because there are less distractions.

My intention for 2015

Spend more time on building my online health and wellness coaching business which will allow me to reach a more global audience. I would like to continue working on inspiring and motivating people to stay healthy through social media.
